BiloHep™ 300 contains Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA) 300 mg, a well-established bile acid used in the treatment of cholesterol-rich gallstones and various cholestatic liver diseases.

 

It offers a non-surgical approach to gallstone management and supports liver function in conditions like Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC) and cystic fibrosis-related hepatobiliary disorders.

Indications – When to Use BiloHep™ 300

BiloHep™ 300 is indicated for:

  • Dissolution of cholesterol gallstones (in patients not suitable for surgery)

  • Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC)

  • Cholestatic liver diseases

  • Hepatobiliary disorders associated with cystic fibrosis

Mechanism of Action

Ursodeoxycholic Acid works by:

  • Reducing cholesterol secretion into bile and improving solubility

  • Enhancing bile flow in cholestatic conditions

  • Protecting liver cells from bile acid-induced cytotoxicity

  • Stabilizing hepatocyte membranes and reducing inflammation

Possible Side Effects

Common:

  • Diarrhea

  • Abdominal pain

  • Nausea or vomiting

Rare:

  • Skin rashes

  • Elevated liver enzymes (with long-term use)

Colouring agents: Sunset Yellow & Titanium Dioxide IP

Storage:

  • Below 30°C

  • Protect from moisture and light

  • Keep out of reach of children

Contra
indications

Avoid using BiloHep™ 300 in patients with:

  • Hypersensitivity to UDCA or its components

  • Non-functioning gallbladder

  • Calcified gallstones

  • Acute inflammation of gallbladder or bile ducts

  • Severe liver or renal impairment
     

Dosage & Administration

Dosage: As prescribed by the physician
Administration:

  • Take whole with water

  • Preferably after meals or with food

  • Do not crush or chew

  • Always follow your healthcare provider's instructions for dosage and duration.

Warnings & Precautions

  • Regular liver function tests may be recommended

  • Not advised during pregnancy unless essential

  • Use with caution in lactating mothers

  • Not recommended for children unless under medical guidance
