Dosage and Administration

Dosage should be individualized and closely monitored by a physician during dose titration.
 

• ​Twice daily for two weeks

• Should be taken orally with an adequate amount of water and should not be chewed or crushed.

• It is recommended that heart failure patients take carveri with food to reduce the risk of postural hypotension.

Contraindications
 

Carvedilol Tablets IP 3.125 mg should not be used in patients with :
 

• Bronchial asthma or related bronchospastic conditions

• Second- or third-degree atrioventricular block

• Sick sinus syndrome

• Severe bradycardia

• Cardiogenic shock

• Decompensated heart failure requiring intravenous inotropic therapy

• Severe hepatic impairment

• Known hypersensitivity to carvedilol or any component of the formulation

Warnings and Precautions:

Patients should avoid abrupt discontinuation of therapy, particularly those with coronary artery disease.

Caution is advised in patients with :
 

• Bradycardia

• Hypotension

• Diabetes mellitus

• Peripheral vascular disease

• Renal impairment

• Bronchospastic disorders

• Thyroid disorders

• Pheochromocytoma

Drug Interactions:
 

Carvedilol may interact with :
 

• Digoxin

• Insulin and oral hypoglycemic agents

• Clonidine

• Verapamil and diltiazem

• Amiodarone

• Cyclosporine

• Rifampicin

• Fluoxetine and paroxetine
