Esomeprazole 40 mg Gastro Resistant Tablets

Nexodec 40 is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) containing Esomeprazole 40 mg, designed to offer powerful and long-lasting acid suppression. It helps manage acid-related conditions like GERD, erosive esophagitis, ulcers, and more, improving digestive health and quality of life.
 

How Nexodec 40 Works
 

Nexodec 40 works by blocking the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in stomach lining cells, significantly reducing gastric acid production. This promotes healing, symptom relief, and protection of the gastrointestinal lining.

What Nexodec 40 is Used For

Nexodec 40 is prescribed for:

  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)

  • Healing and prevention of erosive esophagitis

  • Treatment of Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome

  • Prevention of NSAID-induced gastric ulcers

  • Part of H. pylori eradication (combination therapy)

  • Relief from acid-related dyspepsia

Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dose: Once daily

Timing:
Preferably before meals

Instructions:
Swallow whole with water — do not crush or chew

Note:
Always follow your doctor’s advice for dosage and duration

Before You Take Nexodec-40

Avoid if you:

  • Are allergic to esomeprazole or similar drugs

  • Have severe liver disease (without medical supervision)

  • Are taking certain antiviral medicines (e.g., nelfinavir, atazanavir)

Inform your doctor if you:

  • Have osteoporosis or low magnesium levels

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Suffer from liver or kidney issues

Possible Side Effects

Common:

  • Headache

  • Nausea, vomiting

  • Abdominal discomfort

  • Constipation or diarrhea

  • Flatulence

 

Uncommon/Rare:

  • Dizziness

  • Skin rash

  • Muscle cramps, irregular heartbeat (low magnesium)

  • Vitamin B12 deficiency (with long-term use)
